Personally, I think Symantec's Norton AntiVirus does the best job of

For those people (elves?) who prefer not to spend $50 and up to
protect their computers, there is shareware/freeware available. Here
are a couple of possibilities. (I didn't check any out first, just
did a random search on a shareware/freeware site.)

But now that I think about it, it's been about two days since the last
