No hoax. I heard it on the news and read it in the LA Times as well.
It's not totally banned, kids just can't play it unless it's
"supervised". Their explanation: too many innocent bystanders getting
slammed into and injured.
Have you heard the one about the lawsuit to remove see-saws from
public parks?
