This whole episode brings to mind a book called Gods in Everyman by Jean Shinoda Bolen.

Bolen's thesis, like in her earlier book, Goddesses in Everywoman, is that personalities of major Greek/Roman Gods can be found in each and every man. This book was highly recommended to me by Joya of course.
Joya very correctly said that David was an Apollo. Apollos are very aware of image. They are more concerned than most people about issues of civility and politeness. But that animal nature that exists in all of us builds up, even in Apollo, and the Apollo man has to let out a zinger like that every now and then, just to stay sane.
Nothing to be ashamed of David. You are a true Apollo. You have proved it again :)
I am a Hermes. Mike is an Aries. David Coons and my ex-roommate Scott ( who is the exact opposite of David Eadington in every way) are both Dionysus. Joel is a Hades. Cannot quite place Dean or John. (Dean you might actually be a kind version of Zeus)
On the Goddess side, Joy and Debbie are truly Artemis. Barby is a mixture of Hera and Athena. Believe it or not, I have trouble figuring out which one Joya is :)
On and by the way, David...thanks for your best wishes..even if they were at Joy's expense :)
