Yeah, that's Bob all right. He's had polio since childhood, and claims to
have fought off its worst effects using the controversial Sister Kenny
treatment. In the last few years it's caught up with him, and he's been on
wheels.

"Juicer" is an appropriate term. I'm sure he's drinking hard -- and
probably doing other intoxicants -- to fight pain.

Personally, his influence on my life has dimmed considerably in the last few
years. I really think he's spent most of his life catering to the fantasies
of bright misfits, and -- like so many other pop-intellectuals -- his ideas
are pretty worthless when they come up against actual human nature and
behavior.
