I don't know about other schools, but CSUN doesn't pay TA's for the summer session. Also, anything related to the state is not a strong possibility. There have been HUGE budget cuts at both the schools I work for (CSUN and Moorpark) and I've heard of other Community & State college cuts. She'd probably be better off concentrating her efforts on the private sector.
Wish I was more optimistic, but I just got my pay cut by 35% at CSUN due to rule changes regarding pay and class size and probably won't get a summer assignment at Moorpark because they just aren't offering enough classes. It's grim.
