Gray Davis, George Bush...show me JUST ONE politician playing without
a personal agenda and who actually gives a flying for the constituents
instead of those who donated to the money bag.
And that was actually what I meant by my seeming anti American post. We seem to have less shared traditions that we can rely in than our European friends. Esepcially a shared tradition of community. The corrpution of slick money campaigns, while bad elswhere, seems worse here.
So, it was actually a conservative point that I was making. I believe in fighting for freedom. I do not believe in fighting to line the pockets of some big Texas oil tycoons.
And I have NO love for Gray Davis. I think only his wife and the prison guard unions do. But for the record, I believe that a good portion of the blame for the state meltdown can is due to the 2000-01 "Energy Crisis" now almost universally believed to have been a phony invented by those same Texas oil companies. And also an inevitable letdown from the go-go fun fun DotCom 90's. Boy they were fun, like most fool's paradises.
One good thing about getting older. I do know that these lousy times will pass.

After I win the flipping lottery one of these days you'll find me
somewhere else.
But until then back to work so I can see most of it go to taxes to
keep the Pols happy with their pockets lined.
