Dude,
So I'm trolling the Flogging Molly site and it turns out that Dave
King (lead singer) got his start with a band called Fastway. Fastway
was a group started by some yokel named Fast Eddie Clarke.
Yep, the same Fast Eddie from Motorhead!!
On a scarier note, little Ryan can now sing almost the entire album of
Drunken Lullabies, albeit with the lyrics a tad mixed up (e.g. "Cause
we find oursleves with cigarettes / singing drunken lullabies"). Of
course, he asks to listen to the CD every day to/from daycare. Nothing
like subjecting a 4-year old to Celtic punk rock...
(For the rest of youse)
Flogging Molly is a Celtic punk rock group, once the houseband of
Molly Malones on Fairfax, now touring Europe (without me). Their
latest album "Drunken Lullabies" is one of the greatest albums I've
*EVER* heard. Many moon ago KROQ played the single of the same name
and when I heard it I literally had to pull the car over to the side
of the road. Un-freaking-believable. One of the rare times I bought
the CD without checking out the rest of the songs first.
Their first album is excellent but just not quite the level of the
second.
Dave King (lead singer) has a gift for lyrics and a voice like
butter-coated sandpaper.
OK, I'll stop kvelling. I need a guiness. I need a trip to Dublin. I
need a Guiness in Dublin...

Actually I had a Guiness in Dublin. No offense to anyone but it was
awful beer. German and Mexican beers are so much better but that's my
opinion.
