The old Intelligent Designer argument. (We develop complex machines so
who developed us?) It ignores the hypothesis that evolution can lead
to awareness and complex intelligence given enough time and umpteen
millions and billions of years seems to be enough time. I think we
count as support for that.
It evades the question of WHY do we have to worship an intelligent
designer? Dogmatic religion is nothing more than a tool for man
controlling man (frequently with good intentions; frequently not. Mind
the kool-aid.).
Realizing that we're all the same on a human level and that no one is
truly closer to "God" (since "God" isn't a separate entity) returns
the Messiahs and Messengers to those that lived and died. It removes
the need for a Religious Class that too often views itself above
others.
And, yes, if you check out my latest rant (if the blogger site would
quit being so damn flaky)
http://littlemrmahatma.blogspot.com/
you'll see that I'm for removing quite a bit of God from our
government.
