Ummm, not west of Ventura but either North or South. In any case the
fire didn't go near Woodland Hills, Warner Center, or West Hills.
Some quick geography, make an L with your left hand thumb pointing
down. That's the NW valley - Chatsworth. The Santa Susanna Pass area
would be your thumb. That caught a little flames but not much left
after the last fire that roared through there a few years back. Your
hand sans thumb are the mountains of Chatsworth above the 118 freeway.
That's what got hit. Lot's of development. Lots of expensive homes.
Your fingers tips would point towards Porter Ranch, also in some
danger. Your thumb would point towards West Hills - no danger.
Woodland Hills and Warner Center are south of and slightly east of
West Hills.
But, as of this morning, no fires in sight. Some smoke over a ridge
north of Porter Ranch. Traffic to Simi the absolute shits, away from
Simi clear.
