I think we should play a few games of Junta to give Richard an idea of
what a good board game is really like. Ah heck, might as well throw in
Kremlin and Shanghai Trader. Maybe New Year's???
Diplomacy is also a good game, though I have some bad memories of
being very sleepy over at Paul and Greg's at 5:00 AM, and having Alex
going over the rules so very carefully before we can continue another
round. No fun in that ... I just don't have the endurance!
I liked seeing Richard's and Dean's arguments of who gets their
imaginary TV wives. You know, last Fall David Coons, Dean Oisboid, and
I took at road trip up north to SF. Along the way we visited a
'clothing optional' resort. Very chic...
As we drove away from the place, we got into a discussion about which
famous actors or actresses we think should go there to parade their
"stuff" for everyone to see.
The following is my recollection of that conversation. This is close
to 100% of what was said:
John: "Being a fan of horror and anything that goes bump in the night,
I would probably choose Buffy, or one of her cohorts..."
Dean: "I vote for Shelly Winters. She was always my favorite."
John: "Um, I think she's dead, Dean."
David: "Who's that you say? Jonathan Winters? Sure, sounds good, I
would love to see him nude. Jonathan Winters! Jonathan Winters!"
Dean: "She's... dead?! Agh.. Okay, second choice: Bette Midler."
John: "Well, hmmm, she's still around, I think."
David: "Are you changing your mind already, Dean? If the two of us
vote for Jonathan Winters, we would outvote John!"
By the end of our drive back to Los Angeles, I was getting a little
fed up.
