Biomass is part of it. Over time and with enough determination, you
can build up a tolerance.

When I was in the Lvov in 1992 with Dean and Debbie, I recall evenings
where Sasha stayed up until 2AM or later, entertaining me and talking,
drinking straight vodka. I stayed with him for several days and this
was common. Sasha loved to "refresh the glass", as he so fondly put
it. Seriously, I was not able to keep up with him nor did I try.
Before the lights were off for the night, I would drink a few glasses
of water to be on the safe side. Sasha did not as far as I could tell.
And Sasha was by no means a big in biomass.

In the morning after such a night, I would wake up feeling somewhat
groggy, maybe a small headache, but overall okay. It would be about
9AM, a good two hours after Sasha had gotten up to go to work!

Sasha thought nothing of staying up so late drinking and then putting
in a full day of work right after.
