This was sent to me by a friend, and I AM a Wells Fargo holder...

Lesson: Be very wary of messages form yoru bank that come via e-mail.

Dear Friends and Family,

I don't have a Wells Fargo account.
I also know that this is a frequent technique of scam artists.
Examine carefully the URL that they conveniently provide as a link for me to solve my account problem.
What masquerades as https://online.wellsfargo.com/cgi-bin/signon.cgi (a perfectly well formed URL, the sign in page for Wells Fargo personal banking), and given the httpS - is a secure login, is really http://online_wellsfargo_com_account.rndsystems.co.kr:7308/wells.htm -- a URL that I'm sure tries to extract identity theft info.
Both my mail reader and my browser let me see the ACTUAL target of a link when I let my mouse target "hover" over the link for a few seconds. Always worth doing, IMHO, because if I'd received a slightly less threatening message from a bank I do use, I may actually have clicked on the link ...
Please feel free to pass this info on to others.
