Good thing I didn't get too worked up about it then. Obviously something
big did hit the Pentagon that day, chances are pretty good it was flight
77... I admit I haven't really studied the ballistic qualities of the
average civilian airliner (or any other aircraft for that matter)

It did occur to me that in an average crash the aircraft breaks in midair
and sheds debris in a path or it slides on the ground and leaves a trail.
Sometimes they do run square into a mountain, but the big civilian airliners
aren't known for doing that (unlike small private planes that can be flown
without instruments and get lost)

So we don't have a lot of experience with a big aircraft being punched into
a building. Where's the aircraft? Smeared all over the rubble and
concrete, of course. I have fired an 8mm Mauser rifle at a piece of iron
pipe to see what would happen. The bullet vanished, smeared into the impact
hole which went through one wall but not the other. It's really impressive.
I don't have that pipe any more so I can't show you.

I'm sure any really competent conspiracy theorist can come up with dozens of
ways to off an entire plane load of passengers.

Thanks for reminding us of Snopes.

The Pentagon conspiracy theory is a bunch of bunk. See:
   http://www.snopes.com/rumors/pentagon.htm

Even if the theory is true and the flight 77 (a Boeing 757)
*didn't* crash into the Pentagon, who made off with all those
missing passengers on flight 77?
