On Monday, January 3rd, around 5PM Celia Salinas had a massive seizure
and collapsed. It happened at the 9th Circuit Court building where she
works. Earlier in the afternoon she had been told that a Managing
Attorney position would be available soon, and that she should expect
to get it. She had been a Research Attorney for almost five years and
was thrilled to get this good news. She called her husband, and they
were going to celebrate. But that evening, she was instead lying in
the hospital on life support. The next day the doctors notified her
family that there was no brain function at all. She was dead, and
there was no point in carrying on. My brother visited the hospital
today and met with the family. Funeral services are pending. She was
only 35.

We will really miss her.
