Someone wrote into the LA Times with several recommendations on how to
select a nonpartisan judge in an election. Other than the obvious: LA
Times' endorsement, League of Women Voters, and smartvoter.com, ther
LA County Bar Association has candidate ratings. I checked it out:
www.lacba.org does have a lot of information, some anecdotal, some
interviews, and the Bar's ratings. I thought it was pretty good.
Especially being able to read the ratings. There are a lot of "Not
Qualified" dandidates up this year.

Ratings are here:
http://www.lacba.org/Files/Main%20Folder/Documents/JEEC/Files/2006_Ratings.pdf

Interviews and explanations are here:
http://www.metnews.com/judicial.htm

Hope this helps you as much as it helped me. Pass it along.
