Yes. CPAC.

http://www.cpac.org/

It turns out it's a few weeks after P-Day this coming year, so it's
more likely that I'll be able to go on the cabin trip--though I still
have to scrape up some dough for both excursions. The good news is,
I'm about to set up shop as a meth dealer, so the money's about to
come rolling in.

CPAC is more important this year, because I should be able to get a
feel for who the top GOP contenders are WRT 2008. Last year Gingrich
put on a hell of a show, so I knew then that he was serious. I expect
Rudy to show up this time, which will be fun. Condi is getting to the
point where she is going to have to show interest in running if she's
going to stay viable.

I don't pay to go: I'm "press," as a blogger, but I usually go to one
of the dinners, and have to drop a few dollars for that. And I
certainly don't stay at the hotel where the convention is: there's one
that's just a short, freezing walk away. And as usual I fly the
redeye, parlaying my insomnia into discounts.

CPAC's biggest claim to fame is that it's the first of Stephen Glass'
most infamous fictionalizations for *The New Republic*: Glass
portrayed it as a sort of drunken brawl, which isn't 100% accurate.
(Though people drank hard in the bar at the party hosted by RedState
one night last year.) There's a nice portrayal of Glass' "coverage" in
*Broken Glass,* BTW.
