The actress known as "Vampira" has died.
Her real name was Maila Nurmi, and she was originally from Finland.
She was a horror film hostess in the 1950s, decades before "Elvira".
She also played a part in Ed Wood's "Plan Nine from Outer Space". This
was undoubtedly Mr. Wood's *Magnum Opus*.
In the 1980s "Vampira" tried to sue "Elvira", since there was a strong
similarity to both shows. She lost.
