Not to say that they stole our idea but....

Some of you might remember that 25+ years ago a bunch of us
collaborated on a facetious letter-to-the-editor which was
printed in the Daily Bruin.

The letter started out as if written by supporters of
creationism. We repeated the usual pro-creationism /
anti-evolution arguments.

But as the letter progressed, it became clear to the reader
that although we had been using the term "creationism", we
had not been meaning it in the usual way. The twist was that
we were not followers of the Old Testament, in fact our goal
was to promote Ancient Greek myths. Of course the arguments
had not been at all affected by this distinction.

Consequently, hilarity ensued.
