Well said Debbie...

And I maintain that a college or University is an ideal cultural environment for you John...snoop around see who is there...A good job could result...

And put me down as one who might suggest that you even might work for a little less ( but still enough to support yourself obviously) that you did at Syvox... IF the job makes you happy and satisfied

Radical that I am, your happiness is a factor, and I dont think that the paycheck is the only factor. ----- Original Message -----

  John,
I wouldn't recommend offering to work for free, even though you've got
the time for it. Anyone would take advantage of an offer like
that, no matter how altruistic they are! Ask for something, anything,
no matter how small. Perhaps free computer use between help sessions,
so you can continue searching online for a job? Definitely ask to use
their job placement facilities/resources. Perhaps they'd give
you teachers' lounge and refrigerator privileges? A discount at the
student store? Sit in on an interesting class or two for free? You
are a valuable asset to the college and should at least receive some
  recognition, if not direct payment!
