Unfortunately, there is some truth to my lack of savvy about getting
real money: Look how many years I was underpaid and overworked at
SyVox!

Regarding the language lab, there is no place where I can post an
advert about private tutoring. I have been told that it is done by
word of mouth. Still, the suggestion is appreciated.

I have gotten back extremely positive feedback from the people I have
helped. Since I am apparently good at this, this nice reputation
should be able to help get me started with private tutoring. So far,
nothing. But it's summer, and the session will be ending soon.

I really enjoy going to the lab! At SyVox, there was too much worry
and long hours. Just too much work for us all the time, and no
appreciation (other than stock options).

Um, yes, I am trying to take care of basic things like this. The bout
of depression and sadness which was at first quite pronounced has
decreased.

I agree that volunteering is worthwhile, if it will lead us to
something; of if not, then at least if we can afford to do it. The
truth is that I simply cannot volunteer at SMC forever, regardless of
whether or not I would *want* to. This will stop as soon as the
summer session is over. I hope that by then there would be enough
connections made to start getting some money. And in the meantime, I
am trying other avenues as well.
