My advisor's sister works at SMC. She says that 100 adjunct faculty will not get assignments for THIS semester (spring). Sucks.

I worked regular hours (3 to 6) at SMC langauge lab, but was never
paid anything for it. Whenever I was late or missed a day, I always
called to let them know. In many ways, it felt like a job only I did
not get a paycheck. But I was certainly appreciated and quite
popular. I really loved working there.
I believe that Spring will have the usual foreign language classes
available. Where SMC is feeling the pinch is Winter and Summer:
things are cut way back.
