Where have you NOT seen batter-coated fries?
I think MOST fast food places use a very, very thin batter coating
to promote a "crispy" outer layer on their fries. I know Mr. Box
does as well as Carl's and Burger King. I don't believe McD's or
Weinerschnitzel do and I know In-N-Out doesn't -- of course those
last three are now about the only "decent" tasting fries left.
Ahhh for the good ole McD's fried-in-lard fries -- the ultimate.
Damn medling health-nuts!

What to eat?!? My god woman, there's Anago (Sea Eel), Toro (Tuna
Belly), Maguro (Tuna), Sake (Salmon), Hamachi (Yellow Tail), and those
are just the sushi-neophyte friendly ones. Althou my favorite place
currently (Octopus in Burbank) serves an incredible Seared Garlic Tuna
and I always get a Chef's Special Filet Mignon sashimi w/Garlic Wasabi
