The Two Party System is cast in massive amounts of concrete - "they" are not
about to change it, but I agree it would be nice if we really could have
more of a real choice and a real way to send a message that we don't like a
choice between being hung or shot. (Well, the rope looks new, and maybe not
all of the guns are loaded... hm...)

I wonder if we could do something like a way of formally docketing the
percentages when we fill out our W2 when we're employed. I like that idea,
but of course we know they won't even look; they'll just take the money and
put it where they please.

Or if we had some sort of 'direct deposit' system where we could make to
specific funds which would entitle us to a direct refund from the 'general
fund' - i.e. make an electronic deposit, $500 in say, to NASA, get an
electronic deposit from the Feds for the same amount. It would probably
have to have some sort of delay (in both taking from your account and
getting from the Feds) to verify you are who you say you are although the
banks ought to have that in place now.

They might need to allow this to happen within specific windows, say the
first week of every quarter or something, so they aren't suddenly without
funds to pay people who actually ARE doing a job (not their fault the only
job they could get was clerking at the Welfare office)
