I too would be curious to read that original piece of email.

There may be some incorrect information, if only because I had just
found out about it, and some facts were still sketchy. I sent out the
email shortly after I had called New York to speak with the policeman.
I was still in some shock about it.

Interestingly, I got several immediate responses. They were mostly
"Wow" and "Oh my God", peppered with "Well, another silly prank..."
