In Ellison's book, all the man-made computers essentially became one
giant entity which completely covered the Earth. It wasn't an alien
at all. Just a very frustrated machine which couldn't go anywhere. So
it took its frustration out on the humans.
This is why I let Ozzy go on "field" trips w/o me or Da Bois.
