Well, um, "Robin", let me try to answer your question below. Geez, it
feels rather silly having a discussion with myself!

I never said that Alex or Robin Melnick never existed. I am only
claiming they are not present in this discussion right now. That they
*appear* to have resurfaced after all these years is solely because I
got bored and wanted to pull another prank.

I did some Internet browsing several weeks back and found some fotos
of what Alex and Robin might look like today. More or less. With the
help of DC at Artscans, I changed the backgrounds. We added cats from
Carlye's collection. We even appended facial hair on Alex, but deemed
it just didn't look natural enough, so it was scrapped. Once the
photos were in place, I came up with reasonable legends.

I wanted something people would believ, since I knew it would be
checking. I searched far and wide for an "Alex" and "Robin" that might
have a mailing address someplace close. The final decision to put Alex
in Fullerton, was, in my every so humble opinion, brilliant. After
all, WHO is going to verify it? If they did, they would discover that
the address is just a vacant lot next to a dairy queen!

The *real* Alex Melnick, as far as I can tell, left the USA years ago
on some business trip to Tibet. I think that there was an exchange of
software engineers, and Alex was sent over to teach some trainees in
PERL. He ended up liking Tibet so much, he never returned. I think he
is now a monk. More power to him!

On the other hand, Robin got very tired of the stressful city life and
moved to a cabin in Montana where there is no running water or power.
The last update on him was in 2003. He was seen working on some kind
of 'manifesto'...

In either case, Tibet and the backwoods of Montana are both remote
enough that there is no way these guys would get online and check in
with this group!

So, I say, keep reading these messages from *Robin* and *Alex*. Enjoy
them, and if they ask you for any money, give it to them.

John
