Dinner?

This week was Back To School night at my sons' middle school. Some
very interesting teachers, and it looks like it's going to be a good year.

The 8th grade history teacher is a fascinating person. He will be
assigning an essay later this year that got Ozzy and me thinking and
making our own lists. The question is:

If you could invite any 8 people from history to dinner, who would
they be and why?

So... who's on your dinner list?
