I am sorry that my moniker looks so difficult to pronounce. At first
glance, I can see that. However, the following explanation might
help:


This is a Romany word, and it was taken from the "Language of the
Gypsies". Here is how to pronounce it:

Think of the first phoneme in the word "CHeese". As we know, English
speakers would normally write this as "ch". Germans would write it
as "tsch". And the French would write it as... well hold on, the
French are not going to be able write anything with both hands up in
the air!

Moving on...

Think of the last phoneme in the word "baSH". The Germans would
write this as "sch".

Aha!

So, we now know that "tschibasch" is a German spelling of a Romany
word that an English would spell as "chibash".

We would say "CH EE B AH SH". Note the stress is on the final "AH";
Romany almost always stresses the last syllable. Thus, the way to
say their language would be "romanEE".

know. The truth is that I am finding very little demand for Romany
out there. I could use the business right now, as these are trying
times...
