The fact that Alex learned math not from a teacher, but from someone in touch with the more creative side of his brain, confirms David Lyndon's argument, I think....
We should all be taught math by poet-relatives....
Um, wait, now I'm having a horrible flashback to my dad (also a poet) yelling at me for not knowing my times tables. He locked me in a room with a blackboard.... *sniff* Never mind!
