This could just be snob appeal, ( although why JPL are snobs I don't know.) Everyone has heard of Pasadena, as opposed to La Canada Flintridge...which brings up a point..any maybe Joy, you can be sort of a local historian.
When I was a little tyke way back in the 60's. I think that La Canada and Flintridge were two difference cities!
Without doing a Web search, does anyone know when they merged?
