For the sordid LCF History try:
http://www.lacanadaflintridge.com/about/history.htm
But the real reason JPL has a Pasadena address...(drummer roll
please)...
The east parking lot is in Pasadena though the rest and bulk of JPL is
in LCF. HOWEVER the LCF Post Office in no way can handle JPL's daily
flood of mail whereas Pasadena has the facilities. SOOOO JPL has a
Pasadena address.
Yet another of JPL's "Best of Both Worlds" scenarios. Depending on the
situation JPL can either:
Be in Pasadena or LCF.
Be a Government Agency (NASA) or an Educational Institute (CalTech).
Or all of the above.
Now back to work...
Your friendly JPL Archivist,
Ozzy
who may have just a little too much spare time in his cubby...

of a local historian.
